BROTHER AND SISTER FORD LEAVE FOR NICARAGUA
Once
again, Brother Ford and Sister Rose are boarding a plane for a very
busy two weeks at New Hope in Nicaragua. They will be leaving at 6:05
a.m. on Monday morning, May 31. Those of you who know Brother Ford, also
know that he spends most of his time working in areas of ministry.
These next fourteen days are no exception. This is why you are
hearing from me again as Brother Ford is unable to complete a
publication of a News Break before he leaves.
The
Fords' upcoming mission trip is going to be a whirlwind of activities.
There are about seventeen, ministers and other Christians, who will be
joining the Fords on this particular trip. I am certain that many of you
would like to be among the seventeen. However, if you are not blessed
to be one of them, with your prayers, you can still be a very important
part of this trip being a success. Here are the areas we need you to
cover our New Hope with prayer and to believe with us that the following
areas will begin to take shape (especially the ground donation to New
Hope in the rain forest).
The Lord willing, here is what we are believing will take place during the next two weeks in Nicaragua.
ITINERARY FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS
On May 31 - June 3,
Brother Ford will be training MTC teachers. During this time, he
will also be teaching Secondary and Primary students in assemblies.
On June 3,
Leo and Charity will be flying with a group of seven other team members
(which is the capacity of the plane) to the village of Waspam in the
rain forest. Immediately upon landing in Waspam, there will be a meeting
with the elders of one of the villages concerning their donating a
large tract of ground where New Hope can begin building a Miskito Indian
children's home. What a blessing it will be when we have the facilities
completed so we will be able to rescue more children in the rain
forest. Brother Ford will be sharing the whole of this vision in the
future as the Lord opens the doors.
On June 4, Brother Ford will be flying with the second team.
Our
visiting teams will have to fly to Waspam on three different planes,
due to the size of the planes. Please pray for the safety of these plane
trips going and coming.
On June 6,
Brother Ford will be ministering to the Miskito Indian pastors who come
in from the rain forest for a one-day pastors' conference. There will
be an ordination service for the new ministers.
On June 7 - 8, we plan to begin building the children's home (layout footing, etc.).
On June 9, the first team will fly back from Waspam. The other teams will follow in coming days.
On June 10-12, Brother Ford and the visiting ministers will be ministering in different churches in the New Hope area.
On June 13, the Fords will be flying back home again.
The team members who have come to work with New Hope on this mission trip, will be going back home at various times.
GOD HAS BLESSED US WITH $2,000 FOR THE BOYS' HOME
We are thankful for the two people who each gave $1,000 for the boys' home. It looks like we are only $3,000 short to finish it.
SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL THE PASTORS WHO ALLOWED LEO AND CHARITY TO SHARE THE VISION OF NEW HOPE WITH THEIR CONGREGATIONS.
May God also bless each of you who "blessed" them and New Hope while they were here in the U.S.
NEW HOPE IS STARTING AN INTERNET
RADIO STATION IN NICARAGUA
Here is some more good news. We are excited to announce the beginning of NHC Radio! And, just what is NHC Radio? It is New Hope Children's Radio.
It is a new internet radio station we are launching this week in EL
Crucero at New Hope's headquarters. You will be able to listen to NHC
Radio around the clock, right on your internet. In fact anyone can tune
NHC Radio anywhere in the world where there is internet.
NHC Radio will be presenting many updates, student reports, mission team reports, Spanish Christian music and much, much more!
We
are believing we will be on the air no later than Thursday. We are
going to record Brother Ford's messages to the students each day, and
then as soon as NHC Radio is on the air, we will take you live into an
assembly where he is teaching.
When
the team comes back from the rain forest, we plan on their giving a
"live" update about what the Lord accomplished! We are going to ask all
the team members to join us, "one by one," on the air and share what
happened on the trip.
We
will notify everyone on our email list the times of these events as
soon as NHC Radio is broadcasting. If you are not on our emailing list
to receive these updates, please send us your email address.
We are praising the Lord in advance as to how He is going to be using NHC Radio around the world to share His glory!
Thanks
again for standing with New Hope as we "stand in the gap and make up
the hedge" for the children of Nicaragua. Every prayer and gift of love
is so appreciated.
In behalf of the children, we are sending you a big THANKS this month!
Dios te bendiga,
IONA
